Press Release 2009
Cathy Cann, a 16 year old resident of Stratford Connecticut and founder of the non-profit organization Entertainers Educating Everyone (E-Cubed), is assisting Distressed Children & Infants (DCI) International with their 2nd Annual concert to be held Saturday, October 17, 2009 beginning at 6:30pm in New Haven, Connecticut at Yale University’s Harkness Auditorium.
The goal of this concert is to raise awareness about child rights, promote educational opportunities and help communities eradicate child labor, hunger, poverty and other issues faced by underprivileged children. E-Cubed supports DCI because its programs empower individuals to take charge locally, while thinking globally. ECubed and DCI mutually request your continued support in raising awareness for a problem that plagues many communities here in Connecticut and across the world. It is our shared belief that by enabling American children to experience humanitarian work, we establish the philosophical and practical foundations for future generations to complete the job we have begun.
This worthy event will be hosted by Yale University at their Harkness Auditorium in New Haven, CT. The night of entertainment starts at 6:30 to 9:30 and admission is $10 which can be purchased at the door. We have exciting performances by Bangladesh celebrity singer Momotaz, the Performing Arts Center of Connecticut, a cappella groups Kaprophones and Lillith, a magic show by Moazzem Nannu and Power Within: Rediscovering the power of human spirit by Taranga of Connecticut.
Cathy is an honor student at Stratford High School. She started E-Cubed four years ago with the goal of using the performing arts to improve educational opportunities. Cathy has volunteered internationally, and is actively involved with local non-profit organizations. She is especially proud of the work she and her fellow performing artists have accomplished via E-Cubed.
