A Message From Cathy

A message from Cathy Cann, president and founder of Entertainers Educating Everyone (E-Cubed).

First, Thank-you GOD for giving me the opportunity to do this work,

1. Mom (Immacula Johanne), Dad (Greg) thank-you for EVERTHING!  You are the BEST! I feel like I am the luckiest girl alive and have the greatest parents in the world!!!
2. To my cool brothers (Tony & Jonny), my sister/friend (Farah), my nephews (Philip/Pooh-Bear & little Tony) and uncle (Jon), thank-you for all your support and encouragement.
3. Thank-you to my friends, church family (Cornerstone Christian Center), all my teachers and coaches, Louis and my neighbors for being supportive.

My involvement with this work started when my uncle Patrick took me to a cook-out when I was 8 years old. Louis Elneus was giving a presentation on the work that Haiti Lumiere De Demain (HLD) was doing.  I was really touched!  After the presentation I got up and said to the people assembled “you were a child as well, please donate one dollar or two so that a child could go to school.”  We raised $165 that afternoon! 

ECubed believes that education is a fundamental requirement for success.  Without education, a person’s opportunity is limited.  With education, people can rise up and make improvements in their society. 

We need to give thanks for the educational opportunities that our community has given us.  We need to celebrate our opportunities for success and we need to help others get access to the same opportunities that we have.

I have been extremely blessed to have supportive parents to push me to achieve.   I know parents everywhere love their children and would like to see them achieve great things in life.  I have learned a lot from working with Haiti Lumiere de Demain about how children live in Haiti and ECubed performers use our talent and skills to help the children grow and become a positive force for the development of their communities.

I believe that HLD is an excellent organization to help people get access to education.  I am very proud to be a part of this organization, and I hope that you will find it in your heart to actively participate in a similar cause.

Please help the kids in Haiti by making a donation to help eradicate illiteracy.
